The Record of Decision (ROD) / Approved Resource Management Plan (RMP) were signed by the Secretary of Interior and are available on the Documents page.
Pursuant to the BLM’s planning regulations (43 CFR 1610.5-2), the Proposed RMP/Final EIS published on December, 4, 2020 was subject to a 30-day protest period that ended on January 4, 2021. The BLM received 14 protest letters that were evaluated to determine standing and reviewed for valid protest issues. The issues were analyzed and responded to as part of the protest resolution process. The protest issues were resolved without making significant changes to the Proposed RMP, though minor clarifications were made and are explained in ROD. The Secretary of the Interior's decisions on the protests are summarized in the Bering Sea–Western Interior Proposed RMP/Final EIS Protest Resolution Report, which is available at https://www.blm.gov/programs/planning-and-nepa/public-participation/protest-resolution-reports The decision of the Secretary is the final decision of the Department of the Interior.
