Project Description

In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (NEPA), the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976, as amended (FLPMA), and the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (ESA), as amended (ESA), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), as co-lead agencies, intend to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) to further consider the effects of granting a right-of-way (ROW) to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) for the Northern Corridor Project (a proposed highway) as well as a potential amendment to the Incidental Take Permit (ITP) issued to Washington County, Utah, under Section 10(a)(1)(B) of the ESA.

What's New

11/7: The Final SEIS has been published to ePlanning.

7/10: The public comment period for the draft SEIS has ended. The BLM will be working on responding to public comments and preparing the final SEIS.

The public comment period for the draft SEIS has been extended to July 9th, 2024. The Traffic Analysis and the Assessment, Monitoring, and Inventory Report are now available for review under "Documents".

There was a public open house on the draft SEIS June 4th, 2024 at the Dixie Convention Center in the Entrada Room (1835 S Convention Center Drive, St. George, UT). All materials from this meeting are available on this page under "Documents" page and "Public Open House Materials" subsection.

Only substantive comments will be considered. For more information, please see "How to Make Substantive Comments" in the document section of this page.

03/12/2024: SEIS Scoping report has been added to the Scoping Meeting documents.

BLM and FWS extend the Public Scoping Period until December 28, 2023.
