9/4/2026: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) released draft Chapters 1 & 2 of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a 60-day public comment period and published the Proposed Rule in the Federal Register. The BLM will accept comments on both, but comments will be collected separately.
How to Submit Comments on Chapters 1 & 2 of the EIS (Due by November 9, 2026):
Comments on the EIS Chapters 1 and 2 should address the alternatives, scope of analysis, and potential environmental concerns the BLM should consider as it completes the environmental review process. Comments may be submitted via the ePlanning Project Page (this website) under the Documents tab and clicking on the “Participate Now” link.
How to Submit Comments on the Proposed Rule (Due by November 9, 2026):
Comments on the Proposed Rule should focus on the regulatory framework and be submitted by following the directions in the Federal Register Notice.
