Project Information
Project Description
What's New
The BLM Elko District, Tuscarora Field Office has completed the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Rossi Mine Expansion Project and has issued a Record of Decision (ROD) and Plan of Operations Modification Approval. The ROD, which is now final, and associated documents are available under the "Documents" link on the left-hand side of this page. The FEIS is abbreviated and must be used in conjunction with the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which evaluates the environmental impacts that would result from the construction and operation of the Rossi Mine Expansion Project in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and associated regulations.
The proposed project would be located in the Bootstrap Mining District, in Elko County, Nevada, approximately 45 miles northwest of Elko and 25 miles northeast of Dunphy. The proposed project would include an expansion of existing barite mine facilities and the development of new facilities within the proposed expansion area.
