Previously:
NEPA Scoping Stage, March-April 2023. The 30-day public scoping period was open March 2 through April 3, 2023. Public comments during the NEPA Scoping Stage will help the BLM develop the environmental
assessment by identifying issues and concerns, alternatives, and additional
information for the Plan and environmental consequences analysis.
Two Virtual Zoom meetings to provide project information were held on March 7 and March 8, 2023.
Public comments are particularly requested on the following:
- The
type of access the routes would be managed to provide
- Potential
effects on the natural and human environment
- Priorities
for implementation
- Maintenance
and improvement projects
- Signing,
gates, cattleguards and wayside facilities, use restrictions
- Trailheads,
staging areas for public access, recreation activity sites
- Restoration
projects
- Potential
partnership opportunities
Initial Public Input Period, October-November 2022. The initial public input period on land use activities, access needs and sensitive areas occurred October 12 to November 17, 2022. Two virtual public meetings were held to provide an overview of the project and the planning area. Public input received by the BLM during the initial Public Input Stage were used, along with the current management plan decisions and available information, to identify preliminary access and transportation management alternatives. This information is shown on the Preliminary Alternatives maps in the ‘Maps’ folder.
