Project Description

Oregon Telephone Corporation has proposed a fiber optic reconnect project which would provide rural internet connectivity fiber optic service to rural areas. The project will cross BLM lands in some areas. Oregon Telephone Corporation has existing rights-of-way within proximity of the proposed project area, and they are OROR 39898, OROR 12644, and OROR 39272. The company would like to "connect" some of these existing rights-of-ways to provide internet fiber optic services to rural areas using the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) using USDA grant money if the project is approved and  authorized by the BLM.
