Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview Field Office is proposing to authorize the issuance and renewal of up to 30 Special Recreation Permits (SRPs) for commercial big game hunting and guiding activities on BLM-administered lands. This proposed action would apply to all SRP applicants seeking to operate during Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) regulated archery and rifle hunting seasons. The purpose of this action is to provide a quality recreational opportunity on public land that serves visitors lacking the skill or equipment necessary to otherwise participate. The Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) directs the BLM to regulate through permits, including commercial recreation use, under section 302 (b).
