The BLM is cancelling this programmatic environmental assessment and is moving forward with one site-specific project at this time, Ashland's 2025 SOS EA. Information and public input gathered during the programmatic environmental assessment NEPA process is being applied to the site-specific project. Medford District SOS Programmatic EA Public Comment Period
The Medford District is seeking public comments on the SOS Programmatic EA, which analyzes a program of work to be implemented with subsequent, separate, project-level EAs. This SOS Programmatic EA would not authorize implementation of any actions, including ground disturbing activities, but does establish a framework for the salvage and removal of dead and dying trees in strategic places close to where people live. The SOS Programmatic EA provides a description of the Planning Area where eligible treatments could occur, background information, two Action Alternatives, and the anticipated effects of the alternatives. In addition, an unsigned FONSI is being released for public review at the same time. The comment period for this SOS Programmatic EA and unsigned FONSI will begin when posted to ePlanning on the project page and will run through January 6, 2025.
