Project Description

LT Land Group LLC submitted an Application for Permit to Drill (APD) to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Richfield Field Office (RFO) for an exploration oil and gas well. The Carter Peak pad was originally constructed in 2010 and was approximately 5 acres of disturbance.  An Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared by RFO in 2009 DOI-BLM-UT-C020-2009-0058-EA for the drilling of an exploration well on the Carter Peak Pad: Carter Peak Federal 13-1.  This well was plugged and abandoned, and the pad was reclaimed in 2011.

LT Land Group LLC would be required to conduct a mechanical integrity test (MIT) on the existing surface casing as a condition of approval prior to drilling the well.  Depending on the results of the MIT, if the integrity of the surface casing fails, the well hole will be plugged and abandoned according to all applicable laws and regulations.  LT Land Group LLC will sidestep and drill a new exploration well.  

The well would be drilled and completed in compliance with all applicable laws, regulation (43 CFR 3100-3170), the APD, and the Conditions of Approval (COAs).
