Project Description

The Proposed Action includes the development of two geothermal power plants, up to 11 geothermal wells/well pads, 1.7 miles of new/improved access road, 1.8 miles of geothermal fluids pipelines, an electrical substation, gravel pit, and ancillary facilities. Additionally, the Harney Electric Cooperative proposes to upgrade an existing 14.4-kV distribution line to a 115-kV transmission line to provide service to the geothermal power plants. This approximate 5-mile segment of transmission line is considered a “connected action” pursuant to NEPA (40 CFR �1508.25) and its potential effects will be addressed in the Baltazor Geothermal Development Project EA.
