What's New


The BLM Bakersfield Field Office, California, prepared a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) which supplements the 2012 Final EIS prepared for the 2014 Bakersfield Field Office Resource Management Plan (RMP). The purpose of the Supplemental EIS is to analyze the environmental effects of the use of hydraulic fracturing technology in oil and gas development on leases within the planning area. The need to develop the Supplemental EIS is established by a U.S. District Court Order issued May 2017.
