Project Description

This plan details the final Lake Vermilion Public Islands Coordinated Resource Management Plan (CRMP), Environmental Assessment (EA), and Decision Record (DR). This is a long-term management plan for 87 small public islands administered by the BLM. The (CRMP) fulfills the planning responsibilities within the context of the Shipstead-Newton-Nolan Act of 1930, which addresses conservation of the natural beauty of the shorelines for scenic and recreational- purposes.

What's New

The Lake Vermilion Island CRMP and Decision Record (DR) was approved and signed by the Northeastern States District Manager on September 10, 1993. An amendment to the plan was considered, but ultimately cancelled in 2018. More information on the cancelled amendment effort on ePlanning here.
