Project Description

The proposed action is for the BLM to authorize a geothermal drilling permit (GDP) to allow the Geysers Power Company, LLC to drill a new injection well (48B-2) on non-federal surface lands that will be directionally drill through the Geyser Management area at a depth of approximately 8,906.71 feet. The proposed action is planned to take place once the permit is approved by the authorizing official in 2026 and will take an estimated 60 days to complete the proposed action.
