October 23, 2025 - The BLM has issued a new Record of Decision (ROD) Coastal Plain Oil and Gas Leasing Program.

The Department of the Interior signed a new Record of Decision (ROD) on October 23, 2025 to guide management of the Coastal Plain Oil and Gas Leasing Program which aligns management of the 1.56-million-acre Coastal Plain consistent with the 2020 ROD. This new Decision supersedes the 2024 ROD.

This decision is based on the NEPA analysis presented in the 2024 Coastal Plain Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement and the 2025 Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA) which incorporates new information that has arisen since the publication of the 2020 ROD. The 2025 ROD is available on the Documents tab of this ePlanning page.
