Project Description
What's New
The Bureau of Land Management signed the Record of Decision for the Kingman Field Office Resource Management Plan Final Environmental Impact Statement on March 7, 1995. The administrative boundary for the Kingman Field Office changed after completion and approval of the Kingman Plan. As a result, there is an area in the southeastern part of the Field Office that is managed under the Lower Gila North Management Framework Plan, as amended by the Lower Gila North Management Framework Plan and Lower Gila South Resource Management Plan and Decision Record (July 2005).
All of these planning documents are available for download under "Documents and Reports."
Home The 1995 Kingman Resource Management Plan provides management direction for 2.4 million acres of Bureau of Land Management administered surface and 2.0 million acres of federal mineral estate in northwestern Arizona. The Resource Management Plan analyzed multiple uses and allocations within the planning area including development of minerals, rights-of-way, land tenure, recreation opportunities, access, grazing, wildlife habitat, cultural resources and Areas of Critical Environmental Concern.
Description of Planning Area
The planning area is located south of Lake Mead National Recreation Area and west of the Hualapai Indian Reservation. Much of the planning area is characterized by large areas of checkerboard or intermingled land ownership patterns. The southeastern part of the Kingman Field Office is managed under the Lower Gila North Management Framework Plan and the Lower Gila South Resource Management Plan and Decision Record of July 2005. Much of this area was incorporated into the Kingman Field Office administrative boundary and contains the congressionally designated Arrastra Mountain and Tres Alamos Wilderness Areas and the Three Rivers Area of Critical Environmental Concern.
