Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Cedar City Field Office (CCFO) received an SF299 application from the Central Iron County Water Conservancy District (CICWCD) now known as the Cedar Valley Water Conservancy (CVWC) that seeks to install a water pipeline across BLM managed land within the CCFO. If approved, the BLM would issue a 30-year Water Pipeline Right-of-Way to the CVWC. The BLM would also issue a three year short term right-of-way for construction purposes only.

Plan of Development: Installation of an 18" pipeline on the southwest side of North Iron Springs Road for connection from future culinary wells to Cedar Valley. This pipeline will convey culinary drinking water. The waterline shall be buried with 40" minimum cover and is anticipated to be located at a minimum of 6 feet off the edge of the existing asphalt road. A temporary 30-foot wide Right-of Way (ROW) is needed for the construction of the pipeline. A permanent 15-foot-wide ROW is proposed for the water pipeline and is approximately 6,929 feet long on BLM land. The acreages of the temporary and permanent ROWs within BLM land are 4.77 (Temporary) and 2.4 (Permanent), more or less. The buried waterline would be in use year-round. It is anticipated that construction would be completed within three months.
