Project Description

The proposed action is the administrative conveyance of approximately 7,612 acres of federal land to the City of Fernley, Nevada, under the authority of Section 3009(c) of Public Law 113–291—December 19, 2014, H.R. 3979 – the Carl Levin and Howard P. "Buck" McKeon National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015 (“Fernley Lands Bill”). Section 3009(c)(2) of the legislation states that “subject to valid existing rights and notwithstanding the land use planning requirements of sections 202 and 203 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (43 U.S.C. 1712, 1713) […] the Secretary [of the Interior] shall convey, without consideration, all right, title, and interest of the United States to and in the Federal land” to the City of Fernley.
