Project Description

In 2018, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) issued ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. (CPAI) Right of Way (ROW) AKAK106233180 (Legacy Casefile Number FF097411) which expired December 31, 2023. BLM issued this ROW to facilitate necessary environmental monitoring required by BLM and other regulatory agencies. 
 
CPAI is requesting to renew ROW (AKAK106233180) for 5 years starting Spring/Summer 2024 through Winter 2029 to conduct year-round environmental studies within the National Petroleum Reserve Alaska.  CPAI submitted their Bureau of Land Management (BLM) ROW application on February 15, 2024, to the Arctic District Office.  The description of the proposed action (Section 2.1) provides details of the different environmental monitoring activities that would be conducted if the ROW were to be granted/approved. The Applicant has also applied to the North Slope Borough (NSB).

5/31/2024: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Arctic District Office has made available for a 10-day public review and comment period an Environmental Assessment (EA) that evaluates the ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. Environmental Studies. The EA may be accessed on this webpage by clicking "Documents" in the Dashboard on the left-hand side of the screen.
