Project Description

In June 2026, the BLM signed a Decision Record adopting the USFS NEPA to allow leasing on the Conecuh National Forest. You can also view the leasing availability EA and Decision Record in the Documents tab.

The BLM will be offering 5 parcels on the Conecuh NF for the March 2027 oil and gas lease sale and will be doing a Determination of NEPA Adequacy. The legal descriptions for the Conecuh parcels are available in the Documents tab.

These parcels will be offered along with the 6 split estate parcels, analyzed in the EA DOI-BLM-Eastern States-J000-2026-0013-EA, and the parcel on Department of Defense land on the Barksdale Air Force Base in DNA DOI-BLM-Eastern States-J000-2026-0014-DNA.

What's New

The BLM's Southeastern States District Office received approximately 380 scoping comments on the Conecuh National Forest Expressions of Interest. The next opportunity for the public to comment will be for the public comment period in early November.
