Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management is proposing to authorize public use of the existing Cabin Canyon Quarry as a community pit. Proposed activities may include drilling, blasting, extraction, crushing, sorting, stockpiling, loading, and hauling of up to 50,000 cubic yards of pit run material using heavy equipment. All proposed activities would occur entirely within the previously disturbed quarry footprint, with no expansion of boundaries, new road construction, or disturbance of undisturbed ground.

What's New

May 26, 2026: The Bureau of Land Management, Butte Falls Field Office has issued a decision record (DR) for a categorical exclusion (CE) for the Cabin Canyon Quarry. The signed CE and DR have been posted and can be seen by clicking on the documents link on the Documents tab. The 30 day appeal period will end on June 25, 2026.
