April 24, 2026 - BLM-NV Humboldt River Field Office in cooperation with the US Wildland Fire Service has issued a Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA), Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), and Decision Record (DR) for the Santa Rosa Integrated Fuels Reduction project. The decision approves multiple methods to reduce hazardous fuels, implement strategic fuel breaks to increase fire fighter safety, and restore wildlife habitat along the western base of the Santa Rosa Mountains in Humboldt County, Nevada. This begins the 30-day appeal period ending on May 24, 2026.
