Project Description

NVNV106745651 - Satview Broadband LTD submitted a new right-of-way (ROW) application on 08/11/2025, to install a fiber optic line between the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Maintenance Station on the Pequops down to the Oasis Exit from I-80. An updated application was submitted on 02/16/2026. The overall length of the line is 3.22 miles, the length of fiber on public land is 2.28 miles, 10 feet in width and 36 inches in depth encompassing 2.77 acres on public land. The entire line will be underground within the previously disturbed NDOT ROW. This proposed project is located in General (GHMA) and Other (OHMA) Habitat Management Area for the Greater Sage-Grouse.
NVNV106732691 – Satview Broadband LTD submitted a new application to install a new fiber optic line between east of Wells and the Wells Conservation Camp in Independence Valley on May 14, 2025. The overall length of the line is 13.68 miles. The length of the fiber line on public lands is 7.32 miles, 10 inches wide and 36 inches in depth encompassing 8.9 acres. The project will consist of 6.39 miles of overhead attachments on existing Wells Rural Electric Company power poles and 7.29 miles of underground plow, trench, or bore lines installed inside of the existing NDOT ROW. This proposed project is located in GHMA and OHMA for the Greater Sage-Grouse. Project is within 4 miles of one active/pending lek, within 3.1 miles of one active/pending lek, and within 2 miles of one active/pending lek.
NVNV106732693 – Satview Broadband LTD submitted a new application to install a new fiber optic line between the Carlin Conservation Camp east of Carlin out to the Battle Born Youth Academy on May 14, 2025. The overall length of the fiber line is 2.9 miles. The length of the fiber line on public land is 1.61 miles, 10 inches in width and 36 inches in depth encompassing 1.88 acres. The project will be installed in an existing NDOT ROW on the north side of I-80 between the Camp and Youth Academy. The line will be plowed, trenched, and bored depending on the terrain. This proposed project is located in OHMA and Non HMA for the Greater Sage-Grouse.

What's New

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Elko District Office (EDO) has completed the Satview Fiber Optic Rights-of-Way Categorical Exclusion (CE) and issued a Decision; the 30-day appeal period begins today, June 10, 2026 and ends July 10, 2026, at which time the Decision will be final.
