UPDATE AS OF MARCH 2024: Due to resource concerns realized in scoping, the BLM is deferring the two parcels (1,201.53 ac) nominated for the Carlsbad Field Office. The BLM-NM concluded internal and external scoping of all parcels under consideration. During this time, the BLM and public noted concerns with both parcels (6839 and 457). The parcels were reviewed in accordance with IM-2023-007. See the Parcel Preference Table in the Documents section which indicates low parcel preference for both parcels.
