Project Vitals
Proposed Location: Near the town of Mammoth Lakes in Mono County, California. The project would be located on Inyo National Forest lands and adjacent private lands within portions of Federal geothermal leases CACA-11667, CACA-14407, CACA-14408 and CACA-11672.
Acreage: Approximately 77 acres of temporary ground disturbance and 18 acres of new permanent impervious surface disturbance.
Status: The project was approved August 12, 2013.
Public Comment: There are no longer any opportunities to comment on the project.
Company's Expected Benefit: The project would generate enough electricity to serve 10,000 homes or 33,000 people.
Public Comments
One oral comment and 28 comment letters were received on the Draft EIS and 9 comment letters, from 6 separate entities, were received on the Final EIS. All comments received on the Draft EIS were considered and incorporated into the Final EIS. Comments received during the 30 day wait period for the Final EIS were reviewed and considered, but did not identify significant new circumstances or information.
