The Delta Wild and Scenic River Watershed originates south of the Denali Highway and includes all of the Upper and Lower Tangle Lakes, the Tangle River, and the Delta River. The Delta River drains north through the Alaska Range, eventually joining the Tanana River and emptying into the Yukon River.

Project Description

Red Mountain Minerals proposes to mine residual placer material from an approximately 68-acre area and process the material on its private property approximately ½ mile south of the mining area. Areas would be mined in 5-acre blocks. Excavated materials would be screened on site to remove large rocks & boulders. The screened material would be transported to RMM's private property for further processing by physical methods similar to typical placer operations. The processed material, minus the minerals RMM is targeting, would then be transported back to the 5-acre block for reclamation.
