Public Comment Period
The relevant NEPA documents for the Arkansas parcels can be found here. There was a 30-day comment period associated to the NEPA for the Arkansas parcels. This period started November 16, 2017and ended on December 15, 2017.
The relevant NEPA documents for the Louisiana parcel can be found here. There is a 30 day comment period associated to the NEPA for this parcel. This period started April 26, 2018 and ended May 29, 2018.
Protest Information
Through BLM policy outlined in IM 2018-034, the sale notice initiates a 10 day protest period. For the Sale Notice associated to the June 2018 Oil & Gas Lease Sale the 10-day protest period ended May 11, 2018. Therefore, all mailed protests must be postmarked by May 11th and all faxed protests must be received by May 11, 2018. Protests should be as specific as possible. Those which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Protests may be mailed to the BLM-Eastern States office at 20 M Street, Suite 950, Washington, D.C. 20003, or faxed to the attention of State Director at (202) 912-7710. For more information on how to file a timely protest, please refer to the sale notice (found on the Documents tab to the left of the screen).
Before including an address, phone number, email address, or other personal information in any comments, please be aware that the entire comment—including personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. Requests to withhold personal identifying information from public review can be submitted, but BLM cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so.
NOTE: The Protest Period is to protest the inclusion of a parcel listed in the Notice of Competitive Oil and Gas Internet-Based Lease Sale. Therefore, the protest period is regarding the parcels and not the content of the Environmental Assessment.
