Public Involvement
Public Comment Periods
Michigan: There is a 30-day comment period associated to the NEPA for the Michigan parcels. This period starts May 31st, 2018 and ends June 29th, 2018.
Ohio: There was a 30-day comment period associated to the NEPA for the Ohio parcels. This period started August 7, 2017 and ended on September 6, 2017.
Arkansas: There was a 30-day comment period associated to the NEPA for the Arkansas parcels. This period started November 16, 2017and ended on December 15, 2017.
Protests
Through BLM policy outlined in IM 2018-034, the sale notice initiates a 10 day protest period. Therefore, all protests must be received or postmarked no later than 10 days after the posting of the sale notice. Protests should be as specific as possible. Those which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Protests may be mailed to the BLM-Eastern States office at 20 M Street, Suite 950, Washington, D.C. 20003, or faxed to the attention of State Director at (202) 912-7710. For information on how to file a timely protest, please refer to the sale notice, posted August 6, 2018.
Before including an address, phone number, email address, or other personal information in any comments, please be aware that the entire comment—including personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. Requests to withhold personal identifying information from public review can be submitted, but the BLM cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so.
