Protesting Parcels
Protest Information
The competitive lease sale notice was posted on January 13, 2017, which initiates a 30-day protest period of the proposed parcels. Protests must be postmarked or faxed by February 13, 2017.
Instructions for filing a protest can be found on Pages 9 and 10 of the Competitive Lease Sale Notice that can be accessed from the Documents link on the left sidebar.
Public Comment Periods (all have ended)
The BLM Eastern States Office (ESO) leasing process and policy incorporates a mandatory 30-day public review/comment period on all completed EAs and unsigned FONSIs.
The documents were made available from April 28, 2016 to May 31, 2016. Approximately 14,000 comments were received and changes were incorporated into the final EA. For more information, see Appendix A in the final EA.
