The BLM has issued a revised environmental assessment for the 2025 Aloha Trout Forest Management Project. In the revised EA, the BLM addresses how it identifies and protects qualifying pre-1850 trees within the Aloha Trout project as required in the RMP (EA Appendix A, Issue Not Analyzed in Detail #29). New or updated text in the revised EA appears in blue font, which can be found in Chapter 1 and Appendices A, B, and J.

 

The BLM is offering a comment period on the revised content. Please submit comments by close of business (4:00pm) on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Comments may be submitted via ePlanning (see Participate Now), via email ([email protected], subject: Aloha Trout), or via mail to BLM - Marys Peak Field Office, Attention: Anthom Weaver, 1717 Fabry Road SE, Salem, OR 97306.

 

The BLM has previously issued a signed FONSI and two decision records for the 2025 Aloha Trout Forest Management Project. There has been no change in the project and therefore the signed FONSI and Decisions still apply and remain valid.

 

May 7, 2026

The BLM has made a decision to implement the Dandi Lyon and Golden Nectar timber sales as described in Alternative 2 of the 2025 Aloha Trout Forest Management Project EA. The Decision Record and 1842-1 form can be found below. Select the Decision Record heading to expand the selection and view the documents.  Documents are loaded as Adobe PDF files and are best opened and viewed with Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

 

March 11, 2026

The BLM has made a decision to implement the Adipose timber sale as described in Alternative 2 of the 2025 Aloha Trout Forest Management Project EA. The Decision Record and 1842-1 form can be found below. Note: The BLM identified a couple typographical errors in the Decision Record shortly after publishing. The BLM corrected the errors and republished the Decision Record below. No substantive changes were made to the document in the few minutes it was unavailable.

 

March 4, 2026

The BLM has published the Final 2025 Aloha Trout Forest Management Project Environmental Assessment and signed Finding of No Significant Impact.
