Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is preparing this supplemental environmental impact statement (EIS) for the 2014 Colorado River Valley Field Office (CRVFO) Proposed Resource Management Plan (PRMP)/Final EIS and 2015 Grand Junction Field Office (GJFO) PRMP/Final EIS. The BLM approved the RMPs and Records of Decision (RODs) for the CRVFO and GJFO in 2015. The combined decision areas have 1,946,900 acres with Federal minerals. 

The purpose of this supplemental EIS is to broaden the range of alternatives considered in the 2014 CRVFO Final EIS and 2015 GJFO Final EIS with respect to the lands that are allocated as open or closed for oil and gas leasing. The purpose is also to provide additional air quality analysis for the fluid mineral management alternatives considered in the 2014 CRVFO Final EIS and the 2015 GJFO Final EIS and in this supplemental EIS. The need for this supplemental EIS is to comply with the District Court opinion and settlement agreement associated with the 2015 RMPs, and to consider new information and areas with tribal significance. *****

Descripción del Proyecto.
La Oficina de Administración de Tierras (BLM) está preparando una Declaración de Impacto Ambiental (EIS) suplementaria para el Plan Propuesto de Administración de Recursos (PRMP)/Informe Final de la Oficina del Valle del Río Colorado (CRVFO) del 2014 y la Oficina de Grand Junction (GJFO) del 2015. Durante ese año, el BLM aprobó los RMP y los Registros de Decisiones (RODs) para ambas oficinas. Estas áreas de decisión combinadas abarcan un total de 1,946,900 acres con minerales federales. El propósito de este EIS suplementario es ampliar las alternativas consideradas en los informes finales del 2014 de la CRVFO y 2015 de la GJFO en cuanto a las tierras designadas como abiertas o cerradas para el arrendamiento de petróleo y gas. Además, se proporcionará un análisis adicional de la calidad del aire para las alternativas de manejo de minerales fluidos consideradas en dichos documentos y en este EIS suplementario. The BLM has issued a Record of Decision (ROD) and Approved Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Colorado River Valley Field Office and a ROD/Approved RMP for the Grand Junction Field Office.

You can find copies of the RODs/Approved RMPs under the Documents tab on the navigation pane to your left. Spatial data (GIS files) for the Proposed RMP (Alternative G) is also available under the Map Data tab; the Approved RMP is the same as the Proposed RMP.
