BLM seeks initial input on a proposed energy development project near Pahrump
LAS VEGAS — The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments for the proposed Mosey Solar Project on approximately 3,565 acres of BLM-managed public land in Clark and Nye Counties, Nevada. The BLM intends to prepare a Resource Management Plan amendment and associated Environmental Impact Statement for this FAST-41 project.
Renew Development HoldCo, LLC, submitted an application to construct, operate, maintain, and decommission a 500-megawatt solar energy generating facility along with associated transmission infrastructure on BLM-managed lands in the Pahrump Valley. The proposed project would support growing energy needs in the southwestern United States.
In accordance with Executive Order 14315 and Secretary’s Order 3438, decisions and actions for this project will undergo elevated review by the Department of the Interior. This enhanced oversight strengthens accountability and prevents misuse of taxpayer-funded subsidies. By applying consistent review standards, we are protecting American landscapes, safeguarding wildlife and prioritizing energy projects that deliver real value, reliability and return on investment for the American people.
A Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement and Resource Management Plan Amendment published in the Federal Register on July 29, 2026. Project information is available at the BLM National NEPA Register, where comments may be submitted through the ‘Participate Now’ option. Comments will be accepted until August 28, 2026.
