This Executive Order directs federal agencies to take action to minimize the destruction, loss, or degradation of wetlands. All federally initiated, financed, or permitted construction projects in wetlands must include all practical measures to minimize adverse impacts. Section 404 of the CWA (discussed above) is one of the permit processes to protect or minimize adverse impacts to wetlands.
