A.8. 3.2 Clean Air Act of 1963, As Amended

The CAA states that the BLM and its permitted actions must comply with national and state air quality standards. The CAA also directs the BLM to cooperate with states in carrying out their implemented plans. The Act further provides for the prevention of deterioration of air quality and places responsibility on the BLM for the protection and, in certain cases, the enhancement of air quality and air-related values, including visibility.
