Alternative B allowed for relatively high levels of public use allocations for recreation zones and interpreted archaeological sites and included more opportunities for public access with recreation-related facilities and development, while ensuring that resource protection is not compromised. This alternative would designate a single Areas of Critical Environmental Concern ( ACEC ) and a single area allocated to maintain wilderness characteristics .
