Wilson Road was severely damaged by a flashflood event in Goodrich Creek in June 2010. The flood destroyed about one-mile of roadway located on both private and BLM lands. Because this roadway provided access to private, BLM, and Forest Service lands, and no alternative public access routes to the area exist, it is necessary to reconstruct the road. In order to protect Goodrich Creek from future degradation to riparian areas, water quality, and fisheries/wildlife resources, BLM desires that this roadway be relocated westward out of the Goodrich Creek 50-year flood plain. The project would require that 1-mile of new road be constructed across BLM lands, closure and rehabilitation of the old Wilson Road, stream stabilization, and revegetation of areas disturbed by project activities. Adams County Road and Bridge would be responsible for all construction activities associated with construction of the new road.
