The Muddy Creek Heard Management Area is approximately 283,400 acres of Federal and State lands located six miles southeast of Emery, Utah. The wild horses primarily use the open benches and parks iwth some use of the wooded breaks and canyon areas in the winter. The BLM Price Field Office has proposed to gather and remove excess wild horses from within the Muddy Creek Herd Management Area. In addition, once the appropriate management level has been reached, any mares released back into the Herd Management Area would be treated with a fertility control vaccine.
