The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Lower Sonoran Field Office has published the Buckeye Hills Draft Travel Mangement Plan/Environmental Assessment.  The document analyzes the direct, indirect and cumulative effects from the designation of approximately 679.5 miles of travel routes on BLM-managed lands in Pinal and Maricopa counties, Arizona.  Travel routes may be motorized or non-motorized.

The BLM has analyzed the No Action/Current Management (existing situation), and three action alternatives.  The BLM has identified Alternative C as the agencies "Proposed Action."  Under the Proposed Action, approximately 324.6 miles (48 percent) of the travel network would be designated "open."  Approximately 199.0 miles (29 percent) of the travel network would be designated "limited."  Approximately 155.6 miles (23 percent) would be "closed."  These designations apply to the BLM portions of travel routes only, and does not affect the status of routes on non-BLM lands.
