Background
The Lander Field Office proposes to  gather wild horses in the four wild horse herd management areas that make up the North Lander Complex in an area with important sage grouse priority habitat, visual resources, livestock grazing, mineral development, and other resource values.  Fertility control will be applied and excess horses removed from the HMAs.

The proposal is a federal undertaking under the National Historic Preservation Act requiring Section 106 consultation with the State Historic Prefervation Office (SHPO).  If you have any comments or questions, please call the Lander Field Office at 307-332-8400 and ask to speak with an archaeologist.
