The Butte Falls Field Manager issued Decision Record #2 for the Lost Creek Forest Management Project Environmental Assessment

Decision Record #2 is limited to 199 acres of timber harvest and post-harvest activity slash treatment, 0.60 miles of pre-designated skid trail construction, and 10.4 miles of road renovation and timber haul. These forest management actions will promote the development or maintain northern spotted owl habitat.

This forest management decision is subject to protest by the public. In accordance with Forest Management regulations at 43 CFR Subpart 5003— Administrative Remedies, protests of a decision, including a timber sale decision, may be filed with the Authorized Officer within 15 days of the publication date of the Notice of Decision or Notice of Sale in the Medford Mail Tribune newspaper, Medford, Oregon.

The Notice of Decision for the Lost Creek Project for actions not part of a timber sale will be published in the Medford Mail Tribune on Saturday, June 10, 2017.  This date applies to 54 acres of Small Diameter Thinning. 

The Notice of Sale for the Lost Creek Project for actions that are part of a timber sale will be published in the Medford Mail Tribune on Thursday, June 22, 2017. This date applies to the 145-acre Smith B Round Timber Sale.
