Introduction
The Hickison Burro Herd Management Area (HMA) is located southeast of Austin, Nevada in Lander County.  Groups of burros are frequently travelling outside of the HMA and entering private hay fields approximately 4 miles west of the HMA boundary.  The burros are causing damage to crops and fences, as well as consuming stacked hay in the property.  This burro nuisance gather is planned to remove up to 20 burros from private property.  Once gathered, the burros will be transported to the BLM's Palomino Valley Center where they will be examined by a veterinarian, vaccinated and receive the BLM freezemark.  The burros will then enter the BLm's adoption program.  For further information, refer to the documents.
