In keeping with the Administration’s goal of strengthening America’s energy independence, the Bureau of Land Management will offer 109 parcels, totaling approximately 204,172 acres in the West Desert, Color Country and Green River Districts at its September quarterly oil and gas lease sale.  The parcels are listed in the Notice of Competitive Lease Sale on the "Documents" page of this project page.  The posting of the sale notice begins the protest period.

The BLM is also issuing an environmental assessment (EA) that includes 76 nominated parcels comprising  158,944 acres. The assessment and also includes 18 pending or suspended leases comprising 45,278 acres to determine if these previously offered leases should be withdrawn, issued with certain stipulations, or the suspensions lifted. The parcels are located in Emery and Wayne counties.  A scoping period for this EA ran from March 30, 2018 until April 16, 2018.  Two additional EAs that were previously released for public comment during the same time period are also being issued after have been revised to respond to the comments received.
