Public Comment Period
The 90-day public comment period on the Draft RMP/EIS began August 3, 2018. The BLM will accept comments through November 5, 2018.

The Bureau of Land Management’s Carlsbad Field Office invites the public to provide comments on a draft, comprehensive framework for future public land management actions in southeastern New Mexico.  The planning area under the proposed framework consists of about 6.2 million acres of land within a three-county area.  This includes about 2.1 million acres of public surface lands and nearly 3.0 million acres of Federal mineral estate managed by the BLM Carlsbad Field Office. The draft plan will analyze and update the BLM’s management of public lands in Eddy and Lea counties, and a portion of Chaves County. When complete, the revised management plan will replace the 1988 Carlsbad Resource Management Plan, and its amendments.

Comments on the Draft RMP/EIS can be submitted online through ePlanning, emailed to blm_nm_cfo_rmp@blm.gov, or sent via mail to 620 East Greene Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220, Attn.: Carlsbad RMP Team Lead.  Before including your address, phone number, email address, or other personally identifiable information in your comment, be advised that your entire comment—including your personally identifiable information—may be made publicly available at any time.  While you can ask the BLM in your comment to withhold your personally identifiable information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
