In keeping with the Administration’s goal of promoting American energy independence, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to offer 149 parcels, totaling nearly 183,668 acres in lands managed by the Canyon Country, Color Country, Green River, and West Desert districts at its quarterly oil and gas lease sale during the week of September 9th, 2019. This notice initiates a public comment period on the associated environmental documents begining on May 30 and ending on July 1, 2019. The BLM will hold the lease sale online at www.energynet.com

“The BLM welcomes and encourages public involvement early in the NEPA process, as it is an integral part in our evaluation of the proposed lease parcels,” said Kent Hoffman, Deputy State Director for Lands and Minerals. “The most effective comments will identify issues and concerns specific to the parcels being considered.”

BLM is offering a 30-day public comment period on 6 environmental assessments. The public comment period begins May 30, 2019, and ends on July 1, 2019. Comments on the environmental documents must be submitted electronically via the BLM Land Use Planning and NEPA Register (ePlanning) by clicking on the "Document" tab and then"Comment on Document" button.  Comments must be received by 4:30 pm on July 1, 2019. Any comments received by other methods will not be accepted.
