30-Day Public Comment Period
The Bureau of Land Management Utah (BLM) has issued an environmental assessment that includes potential parcels that may be offered for a competitive oil and gas lease sale. The public will have 30 days to review and comment on the environmental assessment. The BLM proposes to lease 35 parcels (totaling 34,596.13acres) on public lands managed by the BLM’s Vernal (VFO) and Moab (MbFO), Field Offices.
How to Submit a Public Comment:
The BLM is offering a 30-day public comment period. The public scoping period begins May 22, 2026 and ends on June 22, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MT. Comments must be submitted electronically via the BLM Land Use Planning and NEPA Register (ePlanning) by clicking on the "Participate Now." button Comments must be received by 11:59 pm on June 22, 2026. Any comments received by other methods will not be accepted.

30-Day Public Scoping Period
How to Submit a Scoping Public Comment:
The BLM is offering a 30-day public scoping period. The public scoping period begins March 16, 2025 and ends on April 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MT. Comments must be submitted electronically via the BLM Land Use Planning and NEPA Register (ePlanning) by clicking on the green "Participate Now." Comments must be received by 11:59 pm on April 15, 2026. Any scoping comments received by other methods will not be accepted.
SCOPING PERIOD
To the extent you submit exhibits or attachments to any submitted scoping comment, you must provide a summary of the attached documents, and explain why they are important for us to consider. If the submittal fails to include the requested summary, BLM may not consider any information in the exhibits or attachments during its decision-making process.
Please note that the most useful comments are those that identify issues relevant to the proposed action or contain new technical or scientific information. Comments which contain only opinions or preferences, or comments that are essentially identical to other comments will not be specifically addressed in the environmental documents, but may be considered in the decision-making process.
