Project Description

Tim’s Alaskan Guide Service LLC proposes to provide commercial guided hunting opportunities for up to 10 clients annually on BLM managed lands within Guide Use Areas 24-03 and 25-02. Games species hunted would include sheep, grizzly bear, black bear, wolf, wolverine, moose and caribou. Operations would take place between August 1 and October 1, annually. Site access would be via horse along the Bettles River. Basecamps would be located on State of Alaska lands. On BLM managed lands, short term spike camps would be set up in locations capable of sustaining 4-6 horses at a time. Main methods of transportation would be horseback, hiking on foot, and when conditions allow inflatable boat. Leave No Trace principles would be promoted and adhered to while conducting guiding operations. Proposed permit duration would be 5 years.
