The Notice of Intent initiating the EIS process for the DeLamar Mine Project has been published in the Federal Register https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/05/29/2026-10798/notice-of-intent-to-prepare-an-environmental-impact-statement-for-the-proposed-delamar-mine. This Notice announces the beginning of a 30-day scoping process. The BLM requests the public review the included documents under the “Documents” tab at the top of this page and provide comments on the scope of analysis, potential issues, potential alternatives, identification of relevant information and studies, Mine Plan of Operations, and potential effects to cultural resources by June 29, 2026. Two in-person Public Meetings and a virtual open house will be available to share information.

Scoping Comments:
You may submit your scoping comments by: 1) click "Participate Now" on the upper right portion of this page and enter your comments or upload attachments; 2) mail your comments to: BLM Owyhee Field Office, Attn: DeLamar Mine Project EIS, 101 S. Bruneau Hwy, Marsing, ID 83639. Scoping comments must be submitted in writing. The BLM cannot guarantee comments received by other means will be considered.
To increase public understanding of the project and meet the requirements of the regulations at 43 CFR § 3809, the BLM has also published the Plan of Operations submitted by DeLamar Mining Company. This document may be accessed by clicking "Documents" on the top of this page and then clicking on the documents under the heading titled “Mine Plan of Operations and Appendices”. Additional documents are also available on the "Documents" page.
To meet the public engagement requirements for the project outlined in 36 CFR 800, The Owyhee Field Office has included an attachment to the NOI that seeks to identify previously unknown historic properties and potential parties interested in participating in the Section 106 process.
