What's New
Final FONSI and Decision RecordThe BLM Cascades Field Office has completed the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Access Improvement Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The Final FONSI was signed on August 22, 2017. The Revised EA and Final FONSI can be found in the "Documents" section to the left. Maps for the project are located in the "Maps" section to the left. The Revised EA analyzes the proposed project located on BLM-administered lands in Township 2 South, Range 6 East, Section 23, W.M. in Clackamas County, Oregon. The project area is located approximately 11 miles east of Sandy, Oregon.
The Cascades Field Office has signed a Decision Record to implement the proposed project. The Decision Record was signed on August 23, 2017 and can be found in the "Documents" section to the left. The Selected Action includes the construction of an expanded parking area toward the northwest of the existing parking area, picnicking options, an additional vault restroom, and a beginner level mountain bicycle skills course. The final engineering design for the project included 155 standard parking spaces. A formal event area for bicycle demos and food carts will be added to the center of the existing parking area, along with a constructed bicycle hub structure that would encompass a changing area, bus stop, and bicycle wash station for users of the trail system.
