August 24, 2026: Appeal period closed for Decision Record No. 2.
New 07/12/2024: The Final Environmental Assessment, signed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI), and the signed Decision Record (DR) for the South Clark Forest Management Project have been released. This begins the 30-day appeal period which will end at the close of business on August 12, 2024. The Decision authorizes 1,094 acres of commercial timber harvest on harvest land base (HLB), follow-up activity fuels treatments, roadside vegetation management, and associated road work and timber haul.
01/03/2024: The environmental assessment (EA) for the Project and an unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been completed and are ready for review. The public comment period began January 3 and will end at the close of business on February 1, 2024.
Completed: 11/10/2022- The Medford District Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Butte Falls Field Office, has begun the scoping period for the South Clark Forest Management Project. The project area is located north of the town of Butte Falls in the South Fork/Rogue River and Big Butte Creek watersheds.
This project includes proposals for:
•Commercial timber harvest under the Oregon and California and Coos Bay Wagon Road Grant Lands Act of 1937 (O&C Act)
The project's public scoping period runs until December 15, 2022. Your written comments help the BLM identify environmental issues and develop meaningful alternatives for analysis.
