Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview Field Office is proposing to install approximately 6.72 miles of fence within the Alkali Lake North and Ryegrass Pastures in the Alkali Winter Allotment #01001. There is currently no fence along this segment of Highway 395, a well-traveled route with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. As a result, livestock in the Alkali Lake North and Ryegrass pastures have direct, unimpeded access to the highway. This creates a public safety hazard for motorists and poses a risk of livestock loss for the permitee.
