Project Description

Fenner Gap Mutual Water Company (“FGMWC”) has proposed to convert approximately 155 miles of the Northern Pipeline between Cadiz, California and Mojave, California, for the conveyance of water. The Northern Pipeline was formerly known as the “All-American Pipeline,” a buried 30-inch steel pipeline which was previously authorized through a right of way (“ROW”) granted by the United States Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”) in 1985 under the Mineral Leasing Act (“MLA”).  The Northern Pipeline traverses private parcels as well as lands managed by BLM, United States Department of Defense (“DoD”), and the California State Lands Commission. 

FGMWC has applied to BLM for a ROW under the Federal Land Policy and Management Act (“FLPMA”) authorizing use of the Northern Pipeline for water conveyance across 53.17 miles of BLM lands and 17.1 miles of DoD lands.

What's New

The BLM is currently active in consultation with the California State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and 14 regional tribes.
